Erie Community College City Campus. Doesn't it look more like an Italian Piazza? Imagine going to school here!

Completed in 1901, Buffalo's Old Post Office was almost lost in the 1970s. It was saved through the extensive efforts of Minnie Gillette, the first person of color elected to the Erie County Legislature, and her fellow legislator, Joan Bozar.

The Calumet building on Chippewa. Built in 1906, it was designed by Esenwein & Johnson - same architects who designed the Electric Tower and many more around the city. 🌇

This art nouveau style building sat empty for years until, in 1988, @markhgoldman purchased it with the crazy idea that he could turn Chippewa from a red light district to a whole different kind of entertainment district.

Guess what? Other people followed suit and through the 90s Chippewa got better and better. 👋👋

Look at Chippewa today! It's a living, thriving, delightful place to hang out and enjoy Buffalo.

If you think about it, Chippewa may have been just the catalyst that kicked off Buffalo's comeback! 😲

Because it gave us all hope...

And it all began with this building... The Calumet. 💚

From this past weekend - had a beautiful visit with a friend while enjoying the atmosphere and the baked goods @chruscikibakery - I believe they're ready for Christmas 🎄🎅🤶 now - will have to go back and get some cookies! 🍪🍪 Their baked goods are unbelievably delicious!

Guaranty? Or Prudential? It's actually both! A few years after the Guaranty Construction Company completed the building they defaulted on their mortgage. The Prudential bailed them out, hence the name change. Under the current owner, the law firm of Hodgson Russ LLP, it's the Guaranty Building once again!
